I believe I've mentioned not above a hundred times or so that I've been rewatching the Man from U.N.C.L.E. from the DVD set that I got as a present a few years ago. We just started watching the 4th season, and I have to give kudos to the people who designed the attache case it came in!

The fourth season is shorter than the others, as the show was canceled midseason. (Pause for a moment of sorrowful reflection.) This means that the internal box holding that season's DVD's is a little shallower than the boxes for the other three ... which I really hadn't thought about. When I lifted it out, it turned out there was an extra compartment behind it with bonus DVDs!!! I thoroughly admire that. SO in keeping with the secret agent motif!

I credit you and Cynthia with getting me starting to watch NCIS to see my old love, David McCallum. I am concerned about him now. If anyone finds that painting of him aging that he has hidden in his attic things could go very wrong.

He's so PRETTY in MFU. And so is Napoleon, honestly. *happy sigh*

It took me a while to get used to Robert Vaughn. He was too smooth for me. Even at a young age I loved the more unusual men or the men who had rough edges.

So that's where you are! I knew you were in the box somewhere. :-) We watched all the bonus discs for Season 1, but we've been saving the others.

I haven't been able to watch any reruns of MFU. *stifled sob* B and I had cable once, and B's memory of why we dropped it was that I wasn't watching it. I remember watching MTV then. This was back in the days of their showing music videos exclusively, and I remember seeing Dr. Dre's video of "Let Me Ride" several times. It was on heavy rotation. Dre borrowed the conceit of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" for "Let Me Ride" which I liked, and the music has a melancholy edge that I'm fond of. (Later, I bought the cassette of The Chronic, which "Let Me Ride" is a part of. It's difficult for me to listen too. Dre's favorite expressions are f-bombs, and the feminists are right to revile "Bitches Ain't Shit," the last track. I used to play it very occasionally, when I was feeling very angry, but now I can't listen to it at all. Except for "Let Me Ride.")

Pardon my digression! I have memories of MFU from when it was in its first run. I thought Kuryakin was so handsome. His being Russian was a plus, as at that age, I identified with my dad's ethnicity, which we all thought was Russian. (Now, my dad knows it is Ukranian. I haven't wanted to ask my dad how much he knows about Ukraine's treatment at the hands of the Russians, both in WWII and in the present, because it wouldn't make him happy.) Anyway, I will look if iTunes, Hulu Plus, or Amazon have eps of MFU available for rent.

I love clever packaging, too.
