Movie: Mamma Mia

The Greek-island scenery was magnificent.

Meryl Streep can do anything.

Christine Baranski is even more awesome than I already realized.

I'm ashamed that I did not recognize Molly Weasley Julie Walters.

Pierce Brosnan's singing is bearable as long as the chorus is drowning him out.

For a movie made up of ABBA's hits, I was surprised how few of the songs I recognized. (And I listened to the radio a LOT in the 70's.)

TODS' observation: "This is a chick flick. I mean, the estrogen is washing around our ankles."

One of the songs I recognized wasn't listed in the credits. I'm pretty sure the "wedding march" was a riff on "Knowing Me, Knowing You," which was a break-up song - perhaps intended to foreshadow the outcome of the wedding?

Anyway, it was fun and frothy, and I really, really liked the scenery.

Molly Weasley was in it? I totally missed that, too, so it wasn't just you.

Yah, she was Rosie - the mom's old friend who wasn't Christine Baranski. I really enjoyed her performance!

Crazy! I totally missed that! I enjoyed her a lot too. The movie as a whole was just plain fun, I thought.
