A Momentous Decision (not!)
I changed my default icon!

gblvr made it for me and I adopted it, when I first got on LJ. I was heavily into Legolas/Gimli at the time, so it was frequently appropriate. I hardly ever use it any more because I've moved on to other fandoms (butterfly that I am), and if I don't remember to change it, it sometimes looks out of place with whatever the discussion is.
So I stared at my icons page for a while - Tin Man? Good Eats? UFO? - and finally settled on a fractal icon, which shouldn't look out of place anywhere, unless the colors clash. ;-)

I loved the desert island special!
We started watching the show just because TODS likes to look for recipes to make, but now it's at the point where we watch it just because it's fun, whether we're interested in what he's making or not.

I agree that Alton is a real person. But I think the "Alton" of 'Good Eats' is something of a character (I think the 'Feasting on Asphalt' is more of the real Alton, as is the one in 'Iron Chef,' etc.). With Marcia, Elton, etc - all "characters" - as well as BA, Chef Paul, etc., and the likes of being stranded on a deserted island, I think there is enough distance from Real Person Fic to not worry about it...
