Rat Patrol slash online!

Bucking the long history of Rat Patrol fanfic as being primarily available in fanzines, I have posted my Rat Patrol slash fanfic online! It's on my fanfic website at http://www.fanfic.tv/amedia/#ratpatrol.

I'm especially excited about this because Safari gave me permission to scan and include her wonderful illoes as well. meritahut, who is an awesome artist in her own right, helped me figure out how to format them correctly for the web.

The Moffitt/Troy stories from DIVERSE DOINGS, Guests of the Sheik and Grappling with Issues have the wonderful illoes that Safari did for the zine.

Her illustrations for the first Moffitt/Dietrich story, Raids End in Lovers' Meetings, have never been published before, and they're amazing. The second one is one of my favorite pieces of Rat Patrol artwork ever.

pppsssstttt if someone you know who works in a bookstore happened to find a really old Rat Patrol novel would you want said person to send it to you? (said person already has it stashed away figuring the chances of you wanting it are high)

Dude! Do you remember which one it is?

Is it one of those chunky hardbacks for kids? They only did one of those - something like the Monster Tank Raid.

Or is it one of the paperbacks? There were six.

I can spread the word (most Ratties aren't on LJ but I know where they are...)

It was a slim, mass-market sized paperback, didn't look like it was for kids. I don't remember anything else - it's still in my box at work; I'll look at it on Sunday and get back to you. If you think someone might want it I'll hang onto it; I don't know if those are hard to find or not for folks in the fandom, I just know I'd never seen one before and it wasn't in our system so we'd never gotten it (at least not that particular title) before.

Rat Patrol

Where are the Ratties??? I was in a Rat Patrol group (3, in fact) for years
until Cat destroyed all trust. I am still in contact with only one and then
only occasionally.

The ones I know are still in the Yahoo Groups, like ratpatrol, Ratpatrol-L, ratpatroloasis, RatPatrolSlash, and RatPatrolWriters, but they're not terribly active.

I went to MediaWest*Con this year and a few of us Ratties held an Open House that drew a total of eight people, including ourselves. :-(

There are a few LJ communities (http://community.livejournal.com/rat_patrol_fans, http://community.livejournal.com/rat_patrol_fic, and http://community.livejournal.com/ratpatrol_slash, but they are even less active than the Yahoo Groups. Alas!

I haven't been really active in the fandom myself in the last few years. I tend to be a serial monogamist, fannishly speaking, and I'm currently heavily into Tin Man. RP has to be the longest I ever stayed active in one fandom, and I still have a lot of fondness for it.
