Random REVELcon bits
Mar. 27th, 2004 06:35 pmI've never been quite sure what "props" is short for, but as near as I can tell the meaning is somewhere between thanks and kudos. Hence I feel safe in saying that I wish to convey "mad props" to...
Hubby, who drove a total of ten hours (two five-hour round trips to BWI) so I could fly to Texas for the convention.
Leah, who bought me an airplane ticket, and put me up at her house in Austin before the convention.
The ghost of Elaine, who left Leah enough money that she could splurge and treat someone to an airline ticket.
Brenda, who picked me up at the airport in Austin, and said very nicely that my hair color just made it easier to pick me out of the crowd. (I had a semi-disastrous encounter with a color called Pomegranate that really should be named Fuchsia.)
Lorelei, who not only put me *and* Carol up at her house in Houston, but treated me to my first professional manicure (sparkly bronze). She was even willing to pay for fake nails, but when I realized I would spend the rest of my life keeping them filled in from the bottom as they kept growing out, I said no thanks!
Carol, who put me up at her house in Austin after the convention, and drove me all over town to essential landmarks like Doctor Chocolate and Half Price Books.
Have I mentioned that Vivian gave me a free Ninja High School comic book, or that Erika gave me a Mardi Gras souvenir ring that looks like The One Ring, or that Dee gave me a copy on CD of the good LOTR fic she has carefully gleaned from ff.net...
And *everyone* gave me much hugs and squees on learning that I was coming back to Texas. I felt very loved!
More when I get around to it.
