Movie: Get Smart

Non-spoilery comments: I *loved* this TV show when I was about twelve (it was on in reruns) and I enjoyed the movie immensely. I haven't laughed this hard at a movie in AGES. Lots of nice references to the series, too.

Book: Pure Dead Magic

The same friend who turned me on to the Lightning Thief series also lent me Pure Dead Magic by Debi Gliori a while back. It's a slim book, aimed at kids, about a magical family in Scotland (like the Addams Family if they were really magical) and their bizarre adventures. Lots of gross-out humor, lots of violence, but also lots of fun.
