Notes on BRB--Summoned by Management:
I decided I wanted to write something in the style of an episode, so the story is all dialogue with a few sound effects. There's no narrative. That was tricky! Especially when you're trying to write h/c and you have to put in clues from which the reader can infer what's going on.
One of the stories I rec'd recently (Homebrew by leiascully) included a line about how Old Woman Josie knows what's really going on in Night Vale, she just isn't telling. That immediately became part of my headcanon. :-)
Lulu is short for Lourdes. Small town in the Southwest, there ought to be some more locals with Hispanic names. IMNSHO. :-)
What really happened with Station Management in this fic has a lot to do with my interpretation of the episode "Subway." I think the subway really *was* a horror-filled ride to some sinister location for nefarious purposes, but once Cecil interpreted it as something benevolent, it promptly went out of business. I think Cecil has some weird and vaguely postmodern ability to construct reality in Night Vale according to his own perspective and moreover that he doesn't realize it. I suspect that Station Management really called him in because they wanted to tell him he was going to have to break up with his boyfriend because the latter was a bad influence on him, and they were not looking forward to having a whiny, sulky Cecil on their hands, and when he jumped in before they had a chance to convey any of this and told them why *he* thought they called him in, they basically said, "Yeah. Let's go with that."
