Feminism is about being who you want to be

I hate it when people are pressured into feeling inadequate if they don't wear makeup or shoes that are bad for them.

I LOVE it when people CHOOSE to wear things - makeup, clothing, shoes - that make them feel happy and/or beautiful. And no one should take that choice away from them, or look down on them for making it. [Well, okay, I worry about gals who wear super-high heels every day, but I can't look down on them, they're taller than I am.]

My mom once told me she couldn't be a feminist because she didn't want to stop shaving her legs. I said that being a feminist doens't mean you can't shave your legs - it means you can choose whether or not you want to shave your legs.
