"So, weekend plans, everyone?" asked Zhao Yunlan jovially as the clock ticked slowly down to 5:00 on a quiet Friday. "Anyone going skiing? Paragliding? Any exciting road trips planned?"
Lin Jing shook his head. Da Qing made a rude gesture. Shen Wei simply smiled, knowing perfectly well that his and Zhao Yunlan's plans for the weekend involved the kind of adventures that did not entail leaving the apartment.
Zhao Yunlan turned next to Guo Changcheng. "What about you, Xiao Guo?" he said. "Wait, don't tell me, let me guess. You're taking the orphans over to the animal shelter to help socialize the puppies and kittens, aren't you?"
"How did you guess?" asked Guo Changcheng, startled.
Zhao Yunlan merely chuckled. "And you, Lao Chu?"
"I'm going to help Ye Huo beat up juvenile delinquents," said Chu Shuzhi.
Guo Changcheng poked him in the arm. "You mean you're going to help with the seminar for teenage martial arts students, right?"
Chu Shuzhi shrugged.
Zhao Yunlan glanced at the clock, which read 4:45. "Well then, all of you, scatter, shoo!" he said. "You owe me an extra fifteen minutes sometime next week."
"Didn't we all work several hours of unpaid overtime last—" began Lin Jing.
Da Qing clapped his hand over Lin Jing's mouth and hissed, "Don't start with him now! You know he's unpredictable in this mood."
"What were you saying, Lin Jing?" asked Zhao Yunlan with a dangerous grin.
"Thanks, boss!" said Lin Jing brightly.
Zhao Yunlan pointed his lollipop at him. "That's what I like to hear."

Ye Huo's training hall was quieter than usual when Guo Changcheng came in near the end of the day's lesson. The only sound was that of fifteen young voices chanting numbers and bare feet stepping softly on the mat as well-spaced lines of students practiced a set of kicks. Guo Changcheng bowed to the training space and sat down to wait.
The students stepped and kicked their way across the mat, with Ye Huo and Chu Shuzhi scrutinizing their moves. When they reached the other side, Ye Huo clapped his hands once and the youngsters all stopped on a dime. "Good job!" he said. "Your behavior today has been exemplary. So I'm going to offer you a choice. We can finish up with one more set of kicking drills, or ... " he paused for dramatic effect, "Mr. Chu and I can demonstrate some advanced techniques for you."
One of the students yelled, "Fight! Fight!" and the others took up the cry.
"I think that was a foregone conclusion," Chu Shuzhi said to Ye Huo, who nodded, his eyes crinkling with humor above his mask.
The students sat down around the edges of a mat in a ring while their teachers stood in the center, bowed to each other, and sprang into action. Guo Changcheng had seen this display often enough that it no longer made him nervous; the expert combatants were moving at half speed so the students could recognize the techniques; they each knew the exact counter-moves so that no kick or punch, however well-aimed, actually landed; and successful throws simply led into dexterous rolls. Nonetheless, the youngsters were entranced and applauded at the end, and Guo Changcheng joined them, recognizing not only the skill but the restraint that was on exhibit.
After the closing ritual and the dismissal of the students, Ye Huo and Chu Shuzhi came over and greeted Guo Changcheng. "The students appear to be improving," Guo Changcheng said.
"I'm not sure about their movements, but their behavior and attitude have definitely gone up a notch," said Ye Huo. "Of course, getting to watch us fight is a great motivator," he added, with a nod to Chu Shuzhi.
"It's such a shame you have to hold back for them, though," Guo Changcheng said before he could stop himself.
Chu Shuzhi raised an eyebrow at him. "You want to watch us fight for real?"
"W-w-w-well, not for real. I mean, you're friends now. But I like seeing you both getting to use your skills. You don't have a lot of opportunities these days."
Ye Huo turned to Chu Shuzhi. "Shall we?"
Chu Shuzhi gave a half-smile that Guo Changcheng recognized as an outburst of joy. "Let's," he said.
The next ten minutes were exhausting, exhilarating, and only semi-fatally dangerous. Guo Changcheng breathed a sigh of relief when it was over and the two combatants parted with an amicable fist bump and went off to shower and change.

That night, when they both climbed into bed, a tired Chu Shuzhi gave a tired Guo Changcheng a hug and a tender kiss, and was startled when Changcheng rolled them both over and stared down into Chu Shuzhi's eyes with heat in his gaze. "Shuzhi," he murmured, and then leaned down and began nipping at his lips, pushing his tongue hard into Chu Shuzhi's mouth and pulling it back out again, then gnawing along his jawline.
"Mmmm, Changcheng, I like seeing you like this," Chu Shuzhi said, earning himself a bright smile. Guo Changcheng pulled Chu Shuzhi's wrists up over his head and held them with infinite gentleness while he licked down Chu Shuzhi's neck to his collarbone. Chu Shuzhi thought about asking what had brought on this wildly erotic attack, but as Guo Changcheng continued downward, Chu Shuzhi more or less lost the capability of rational thought and abandoned himself to the fierce sensations.
The next morning, Chu Shuzhi was fixing breakfast when Guo Changcheng came into the kitchen and hugged him tightly from behind. "I didn't hurt you last night, Chu-ge, did I?"
Chu Shuzhi turned around and kissed him on the forehead. "Of course not, Changcheng," he said mildly.
"B-but ..." Changcheng let go the hug and put out his hand to touch the love bites and scratches showing on Chu Shuzhi's neck above the black tank top he was wearing. "I was afraid I was too rough," Changcheng continued, blushing.
"No worries," Chu Shuzhi said. "What brought this on, anyway?" Changcheng looked almost as if he might cry. Chu Shuzhi added hastily, "I'd like to hope that it might happen again."
"Oh!" Guo Changcheng looked startled, as if he hadn't considered that possibility. "Well, I ..." he stopped and then started again. "I mean, I ... really liked, um, watching ... " he petered out again.
Chu Shuzhi gave him an encouraging nod. "You liked watching ...?"
"I liked watching you and Ye Huo fighting last night. The second time," Guo Changcheng said very quickly and looked down at the floor, his face and ears bright red.
"Ohhhhh," said Chu Shuzhi. His thoughts were awhirl. "You liked watching me and Ye Huo together?" he asked.
Guo Changcheng nodded, still looking down. "A lot. There's just something about the way you two ... move ... it's like an electrical connection. Between you. I'd like to see you ..." his voice faded.
Chu Shuzhi gently put his hand under Guo Changcheng's chin and brought his face up. "You can say it. It's okay."
"I'd like to see you together, like, how you and I are together." Chu Shuzhi was thunderstruck. His astonishment must have shown on his face, because Changcheng took a step back and said, "I'm sorry! I don't mean to offend you."
"Offend me?" said Chu Shuzhi. "You must be joking. He reached out toward Changcheng's face again, this time to stroke his cheek. "You could never offend me. And I really like Ye Huo."
Guo Changcheng gulped and said, "I think he likes you too. He would never say anything because you and I are together. But maybe if we invited him ..."
Chu Shuzhi pulled Guo Changcheng into a tight embrace. "You amaze me every day, Changcheng," he said.

"Are you sure about this?" Guo Changcheng asked for the third time as he, Chu Shuzhi, and Ye Huo walked toward the apartment a few days later. "I mean, we didn't pressure you unduly, did we?"
Ye Huo reached out and tousled Guo Changcheng's hair. "Of course not, Changcheng. I feel like you've given me a rare gift, offering to share Chu Shuzhi."
Not unpredictably, Guo Changcheng blushed, and Chu Shuzhi patted him on the shoulder.
Once in the apartment, Guo Changcheng smiled and said, "I got the bedroom ready for you. Just let me go and light the candles." Behind him, Chu Shuzhi nodded at Ye Huo. Between them, they scooped Guo Changcheng up and carried him into the bedroom.
"B-but, this was meant for you two!" Guo Changcheng objected as Chu Shuzhi settled him in the middle of the bed while Ye Huo moved around lighting the candles with little jets of flame from his fingertips.
"Changcheng," Chu Shuzhi said, sitting on the bed next to him. "I know you love to make people happy."
Ye Huo sat down on the other side. He leaned over Changcheng, looking serious. "The two of us giving you pleasure together would make Chu Shuzhi and me very happy," he said, bending down to give him a quick, soft kiss on the lips.
Guo Changcheng was about to object when Chu Shuzhi leaned across him and kissed Ye Huo. When the kiss ended, they both looked down at Guo Changcheng, eyes bright with hope. "Please, Changcheng," Chu Shuzhi said, his voice earnest and pleading.
Guo Changcheng nodded. That evening, he made Chu Shuzhi and Ye Huo very happy indeed.
