Title: The Right Words
Pairing: Glitch/Wyatt
Notes: Response to the
tinman100 challenge, "stride." Thanks to
koslorollo, who got me thinking about the theme of the boys growing old together and to
lionille for helpful comments.
Glitch was reasonably sure that Ambrose had been more coordinated and dignified than he. He seemed to remember striding through life, confident and glib.
He wished he had that quicksilver eloquence still at his command, but it came and went like the memories that teased the edges of his consciousness. Today was their twenty-fifth anniversary; he needed to say the right thing.
He opened his eyes and saw that Cain was already up. It was time to say something, anything. "Cain, I…" He faltered, gathered courage, started again. "You are my life."
Cain turned and smiled; joy lit the room.
Title: Watershed
Pairing: Glitch/Wyatt

tinman100 challenge, "split." Thanks to

Cain peeked out the door of the bedroom to check on the arrangements. A split of champagne, chilled. A single red rose in a vase. Fruit and pastries.
Twenty-five years together. A day to reflect on the past and future.
Now Glitch's voice sounded behind him, fogged with sleep. "Cain, I…" he trailed off. Cain stopped, hand on the door, wondering what he would hear. Was Glitch dissatisfied, ready to move on? Or would they join hands and walk together into a limitless future? Glitch continued, his voice stronger. "You are my life."
Cain turned and smiled. Breakfast could wait.
