Rented these from Netflix because the first one is based on a Lovecraft story. Both movies came on a single disc. I do not like scary movies, so TODS got to watch these all by himself. Here are some comments I thought I would pass along!

The Curse
A less-than-competent adaptation, says TODS. Closer to the original Lovecraft story ("The Colour Out of Space") than a number of other movies he's seen recently, but he liked Dagon better.

The Curse 2
"The worst horror movie I have ever seen," says TODS. Because:

1. No nudity.
2. No connection to the first movie except the title - no continuity of character, setting, even plot. Apparently the producers set out to make a sequel without looking up what the word "sequel" means.
3. A man gets bit by a mutant snake and his arm turns into a mutant snake - that's the mcguffin. Which is just stupid.

It has NO redeeming features whatsoever except the beautiful New Mexico landscape.

Had to watch it through to the end because there was no logical plot development, so the ending could have been ANYTHING. (After all, a contradiction validly implies anything. Only TODS would review a movie by referring to an obscure rule in sentential logic.)

You lost me at "No nudity"!

*snort chuckle braying laughter* Sorry, hard to take the other reasons seriously after that one :)

Same here! Apparently there's an expectation that R-rated horror movies usually have some (female) nudity; the Joe-Bob reviews usually include a breast count in the summary (you know, eight breasts, five quarts blood, two decapitations, that sort of thing). But it still made me giggle!

I have not seen Joe Bob for years! We used to watch him now and then and he was so sly. He's this highly educated Jewish boy who decided he liked his good old boy cowboy alter ego better than his real self.
