Fluffy popcorn flick, lots of chases, special effects, etc. One major source of frustration: the whole movie seems to be building up to a big martial-arts confrontation between Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh, which is really a dream battle for aficionadoes. There is one, and it's gorgeous, but it lasts about two minutes. Bah!

OMG. OKAY. OPPORTUNITY TO TALK MUMMY THINGS. I have to first say yes, yes, and yes. I am a huuuge Mummy-series fan and they just DESTROYED IT with this movie! Didn't even get the right Evelyn, and they just tossed the entire series to Alex! And the fact that the plot is almost the exact same thing as with Mummy #1 but with added undead armies irks me to no end.

WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU, MUMMY MOVIES?! YOU USED TO BE COOL.

You know, I rented that, and watched it, out of curiosity, and I mostly found it disappointing. The trailers had led me to expect martial arts action with hot Chinese women, and there just wasn't much of it. The action scenes in general were curiously unexciting. I hadn't seen anything earlier in the series, and I don't feel very motivated now to go back and look.

Michelle Yeoh and Jet Li, yeah... Two of my biggest film crushes. I think that's the reason I stayed away from this movie. Well, that and the whole "Farine rarely watches movies, unless she's chained to the bed [by Bobs]" thing.
