Movie: The River King (TODS only)
Apr. 26th, 2009 02:55 pmAnother free movie from Jaman! TODS watched it; I didn't. Afterwards, though, he showed me a few clips so I could see how the beautifully-filmed winter scenes of a small town and the nearby trees and river looked uncannily like the rural area of Pennsylvania where we used to live. (It was filmed in Nova Scotia.) The cinematography is amazingly beautiful and so is the score.
TODS said that the movie itself, which is billed as a mystery, is really more of a character study of the main character, who resolves family issues from his past in the course of investigating a death. The mystery is actually solved about fifteen minutes before the end of the movie, after which various loose ends are tied up - TODS thought, a little too neatly.
