Trailers at HBP
Jul. 19th, 2009 09:20 pmHere are the trailers that we saw before Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It's a strange mix - four movies aimed at elementary-school kids or younger, one aimed at teenagers (Fame) and two for grownups (2012 and Sherlock Holmes).
The Fame ad started out looking like Harry Potter - "there's ANOTHER school where kids learn to fly" or something like that. I was wondering if it was a special trailer just to run in front of HBP!
Sherlock Holmes looked the most like one I'd like to see - G-Force looks darned cute (though I'm afraid they may have put all the good scenes in the trailer) and Where the Wild Things Are looks intriguing. Loved the book.

Date: 2009-07-20 01:52 am (UTC)First - 2012. Ah, Roland Emmerich. Loved him since Stargate, followed through Independance Day, and now this. With him, it's all about the massive scale of his destroying planets. Also, though we only got a few glimpses of the cast, it's *extremely* impressive when you look it up on IMDB. There was one boy that I could NOT place for the life of me and Anndie looked him up - it was Liam James, aka BABY SHAWN!!!! on Psych. That pleases me greatly.
Second - Wild Things. I'm not sure why, but just the trailer alone made me tear up. There's just something about seeing the boy in that costume - that absolutely PERFECT recreation of his costume from the book, with the crown and the whiskers. Gawd. Then the camera work and the way the trailer was set up - wow. Powerful and emotional...I really want to see that now. Good job, trailer guys - you win. *clings and weeps*
Third - Sherlock Holmes. HOLY CRAP IN A HANDBASKET is that SLASH HEAVEN. \o/ I cannot WAIT to see that, because SLAAAAAAAAASH. I was never in the previous Holmes/Watson fandoms, but I strongly suspect there will be a massive resurgance of it emerging from this film.

Okay, so that's not just me and my filthy mind. Glad to hear it! ;-)
