Movie: Vertigo
Aug. 24th, 2009 07:27 pmThis was the opposite of Sholay for me, in the sense that Sholay was a classic movie I'd never heard of that I absolutely loved. I'd heard of Vertigo for years; it's supposed to be one of the best movies evar, great masterpiece, etc., etc. Didn't like it. Didn't like the characters, didn't like the plot. Okay, I did like the music. :-)

Hitchcock had the moxie to make a sordid film. I think in some ways he was the precursor to Tarantino. Both of them have great command of film techniques coupled with an even deeper understanding of how to push limits outside the envelope and have their work be acclaimed.
