Her husband's disrespect was obvious to all. Just count the bastards. Have a brush and paper ready to keep track.
Madam Jin understood that this was the way of things. Acknowledge nothing. Maintain your dignity.
Madam Jin knew she could teach Jiang Yanli how to survive in the Jin household. Yanli could learn to echo her ways, to achieve her bitter triumph.
Then Yanli lit up like a blazing temple of righteousness, demanding an apology from Jin Zixun on behalf of her brother. And it was Madam Jin who learned, who echoed Yanli, who achieved a new kind of triumph.
