The world of Sherlock Holmes fandom is frickin' enormous! There are stories and art and other fanworks based on various adaptations everywhere you look. So I'm not going to pretend to make recommendations as if I had read everything that's out there and these were the best - I'm just going to report on things that just stood out to me personally when I read them.

Two Sherlock (BBC) stories struck me recently as really, really enjoyable.

A is for Astronomy by

janeturenne is a poetic 600-word ficlet that is dense with meaning all out of proportion to its brevity. Something about it reminds me of the best of Tin Man fanfic, though I'm not sure what.

Untitled present fluff by

rabidsamfan is a delightful Christmas humor piece with great characterizations of both John and Sherlock.
