So I was cruising the Person of Interest fic on AO3 and I ran into something unbelievable that made me . . . I think the word is sporfle . . . hysterically.

Let's just say . . . Mycroft Holmes and Harold Finch are related. As that woman in Help! kept saying to Paul, I can say no more. Mycroft's mother/Finch's aunt is one of my favorite fan-created characters evar. I can say no more. They are mildly pre-slashy, but if you don't like slash I don't think there's enough to bother you. I can say no more.

There are two short pieces published in the series so far. My favorite is the second. So far. Meet the Family.

I just bookmarked your rec and I thought you'd enjoy the joy that is fandom if I told you I was watching the Deep Space Nine episode where they go back in time and must deal with the Klingon spy who was at the heart of "The Trouble With Tribbles". Wonderful episode and somehow totally fitting to be bookmarking a Sherlock/Person of Interest crossover.

Fandoms rule.

The joy that is fandom, indeed! I LOVE that episode and I've been wallowing in the wonderfulness of remembering it since you mentioned it. I actually used it a couple of times in Philosophy in Star Trek because (a) it's so much fun and (b) it mentions a lot of classic time travel issues. Um, I suppose (b) was more important from a pedagogical point of view, but c'mon!!! Dax's great line: " . . . and women wore less." And one of her previous hosts KNEW Dr. McCoy and his amazingly talented hands! I loved Worf's "We do not speak of it" when they asked him about the change in Klingon appearance! (So much better than the explanation they cobbled together later on

And I absolutely adore the beginning and end, with the X-Files-ish dudes trying to be all harsh and strict, and how they talk about Captain Kirk, and then melt a bit at the end . . . So. Much. Squee. !!!!!!!

Thanks for the happy happy reminder!

It is always so much fun to ramble with you. I never know where we will end up and the trip is so much fun.

I began Deep Space Nine because of the marvelous Rene Auberjonois who I had discovered many, many years ago when he played the loopiest possible parts in early Robert Altman films. I stayed with DS9 for the characters.

I thought it perfect that instead of Dax complaining about the old uniforms she thought them a hoot. The way she swooned when Kirk and Spock came into view (and of course a scene was chosen where Shatner was nearly incandescent with youth and beauty) and it came out that the object of her lust was . . . Spock. Yes! Genius they used the same actor who had played the part of the Klingon spy in the original series to play that part again in their version. Allowing Sisko that moment of charming humanity as stole time to allow him having a word with Kirk and the sweet smile on his face and totally unrepentant telling of it :)

The two X-Files-ish dudes were Lucsly (Scully) and Dulmur (Mulder-they did not realize they had misspelled his name at the time). Yes, it was fun to see them both melt at the name of the Almighty Kirk.

I don't know anyone else who has ever seen it and of course not only have you seen it, but you love it. We are going to have to get together sometime. You do know this, right?

YES! I remember being excited about spotting him.

INORITE!!!!!

Truly a blissful moment. :-)

Eee! I had forgotten their names.

Just one of so many congruences!!!

It's so, so very true. In the meantime, virtual hugs and twirls!
