Tracking down a quotation - help me, f-list wan Kenobi!

Way back in the days of listservs, someone or other had a sig line that was extremely cool . . . it was about angels, and how we are under the mistaken impression that they always start off by saying, "Fear not." Nuh-huh, the quote went on to say - sometimes they say nothing, and cities fall.

I get a shiver just misquoting it.

Does anyone have any idea where it comes from, or what the correct original quote is? My google-fu skills have failed me.
