Guardian Recruitment Slides (image heavy)

As seen at DC Slash and REVELCon!!!

Ker and Aaron of DC Slash encouraged members to make these powerpoints to recruit their fellow convention goers to their fandoms! They also sent us helpful templates. :-)

The recruitment slides were shown at various times throughout the DC Slash convention, and were a delight! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about potential new fandoms.

I showed my Guardian slides again at a REVELCon panel to convince my fellow RCon attendees to send slides of *their* fave shows to DC Slash, too. That's not to say that I didn't put my whole heart into this "sample" presentation and possibly convert a few people! ;-)

I plan to tweak them before they're shown again, mostly by increasing the font size on the dialogue captions.













The template suggested choosing a final photo that would leave the audience with a good impression of what the show is like, without a caption. When I presented the slides at REVELCon, I added aloud, "Here we see Zhao Yunlan threatening the bad guy with his dark energy gun, while Shen Wei threatens the bad guy with the power of side-eye."

My quick analogy for American fans is that it's basically Warehouse 13 with hot Chinese guys.

MAGICAL. thank you so much for making and sharing! i love "two slash pairings for the price of one." bizarrely, for some reason i always think of younger ye zun and older ye zun as two characters, thus am forever dazzled that zhu yilong plays FIVE PEOPLE and somehow i never get any of them confused (though i generally forget that's him behind ye zun's mask, because Acting™). virtuosic. like your slides! <3 <3

Zowie! I <3 this so much I'm going to print out a copy and make a little booklet of it. I also <3 your phrasing of "There is no heterosexual explanation for this moment -- or for many others...." and I'm thinking of what Fraser/Kowalski screencaps could rate that same line. And speaking of Canadian TV, that's a good analogy with the Canadian TV show "Warehouse 13".

I love this! So glad you could share Guardian with a new group, and sharing it with us, too. :)

I've always wondered what the original "bromance" language was in Chinese, since it never seemed to me as a perfect fit for what I'd expect Shen Wei to say. Unless he was purposefully being silly? (of course, my interpretation of 'bromance' being a silly word may not fit other people's views, so no offense meant!)
