I was very excited a few months ago to spot Alan Cumming on Samantha Brown's Passport to Great Weekends, and promptly uploaded it to the computer to make screencaps to share. Then I saw something shiny got busy with other things and forgot about it, but today I remembered, so here they are! Click for impossible cuteness! )

Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] archon_mentha did me a kind favor, so I promised her a drabble and she gave me a very hot prompt! Glitch/Cain, prompt: Glitch (or Ambrose, any variation) ties Cain up. I decided to make it a sequel to Kink. Also posted here.

This week's free song from iTunes can be found here - the link automatically takes you to the iTunes store if you already have iTunes and you can download the song for free.

I meant to post it earlier - new songs come out on Tuesday and the link is only good for a week. It still seems to be working today, though.

The song isn't about the miniseries, but it does use some Oz imagery and it's pretty.

Watched a few minutes of VH-1's "I Love the New Millenium," which is mostly kind of painful. I don't think there's been enough time for the winnowing and sifting that tells us, twenty or more years later, what *really* sticks with us, the kind of things we love seeing again in, say, "I Love the 70's."

Anyway, one of the features is a dial that shows how gay each year is. 2004 ranked a "7" (out of 10) on the gay-o-meter. "That's about as gay as Alan Cumming!" said the commentator, and they went to a very cute picture of AC, smiling. So yay!

This was fun! I collect weird editions of Alice in Wonderland - usually parodies or rewrites or pastiches - and this is a very enjoyable re-envisioning! A light, quick read, that will probably reward rereading. I aim to check out the sequels.

Folks are doing the request-a-drabble thing, and I'd like to hop on the bandwagon, but it ain't going to be free! I have a fic-related trivia question - first five people to answer it correctly can request a drabble. Give me a fandom and a prompt; it'll be gen unless otherwise requested (partly owing to this discussion of awesome over on [livejournal.com profile] tinman_meta). Fandoms I'll happily write in: pretty much anything I have an icon of. (Ask if you're not sure.)

I wrote a story a while back called The Key in response to a marvelous prompt from [livejournal.com profile] kseda, which was ostensibly a Tin Man/Return to Oz crossover. However, it also contained a further hidden crossover. I didn't say anything because I thought *someone* would pick up on it, but so far no one has mentioned it. It's a "concept crossover" - there are no actual characters from the other fannish universe present in the story. Answers are screened.

HINT (select the next paragraph with your mouse to see it): Remember the curse that was placed on Cain and Glitch. One of them was always an animal when the other one was human; they would switch periodically. To break the curse, they had to perform a specific action dictated by the person who put the curse on them.
